Renting a flat in Prague: the documents you'll need

Moving to Prague? An overview of the documents landlords and agencies will ask for, and how to prepare.

Renting a flat in Prague as a foreigner is easier when you have your documents ready in advance.

What you'll need

  • ID – passport or EU ID card.
  • Proof of income – employment contract, payslips or bank statement.
  • Residence permit – for non-EU citizens.
  • Deposit – usually two months' rent, payable on signing.

The lease agreement

The lease should state the rent and service advances, the term, notice periods and deposit return conditions. Our agreements are drafted by a lawyer and can be bilingual on request.

Proof of accommodation

For the foreign police you'll need a confirmation of accommodation signed by the owner. We provide it together with the lease.

We speak Czech, English and Russian.
